Your new nifty spacesuit extrudes a nifty nanotech tether back to your nifty spaceship, which supplies you with nifty life support. Unniftily, the tether is very fragile. You'll want to prevent it from being damaged with all the tools at your disposal! Also the only tool at your disposal is the A button which unextrudes a bit of your tether, taking up some of the slack.
